พบภาพถ่ายที่เจ้าตัวร่วมบันทึกกับข้าราชการตำรวจระดับสูง และนักการเมือง นอกจากนี้
นายหลี่ยังเคยได้รับโล่เกียรติยศจากกองบัญชาการตำรวจนครบาล (บช.น.)
ในฐานะเป็นผู้ให้การสนับสนุน ในการปรับปรุงห้องประชุมอเนกประสงค์ของกองบังคับการตำรวจนครบาล
9 เมื่อวันที่ 21 ก.ย. 2564 ในสมัยของ พล.ต.ท.ภัคพงศ์ พงษ์เภตรา ผบช.น. รายงานข่าวระบุว่า
จากการตรวจค้นครั้งนี้ ดีเอสไอ รวบรวมพยานหลักฐานขอศาลอาญาออกหมายจับ 4 หมายแก่ 4 บุคคล
ในข้อหาหลีกเลี่ยงหรือพยายามหลีกเลี่ยงการเสียอากรโดยเจตนาจะฉ้ออากรที่ต้องเสียสำหรับของนั้น
ๆ ตาม พ.ร.บ.ศุลกากร พ.ศ. 2560 มาตรา 243, หลีกเลี่ยงหรือพยายามหลีกเลี่ยงข้อจำกัดหรือข้อห้ามอันเกี่ยวกับของนั้น ๆ
ตาม พ.ร.บ.ศุลกากร พ.ศ. 2560 มาตรา 244, นำเข้า ส่งออก หรือนำผ่านราชอาณาจักรซึ่งสัตว์หรือซากสัตว์
โดยไม่ได้รับใบอนุญาตจากอธิบดีหรือผู้ซึ่งอธิบดีมอบหมายอันเป็นความผิดตามมาตรา 31 แห่ง พ.ร.บ.โรคระบาดสัตว์ พ.ศ. 2558 ประกอบมาตรา 68 และมาตรา 83 ตามประมวลกฎหมายอาญา, มาตรา 209
ผู้ใดเป็นสมาชิกของคณะบุคคลซึ่งปกปิดวิธีดำเนินการและมีความมุ่งหมายเพื่อการอันมิชอบด้วยกฎหมาย
ผู้นั้นกระทำความผิดฐานเป็นอั้งยี่ และข้อหาร่วมกันฟอกเงิน รายชื่อ 4 บุคคลที่ถูกหมายจับศาลอาญาที่ 111-114 ลงวันที่ 9 ม.ค.67 ประกอบด้วย 1.นาย หลี่
เซิ่งเจียว หรือ เฮียเก้า น้องชายต่างมารดานักการเมืองชื่อดัง 2.นายหยาง ยา ซุง 3. นายกรินทร์ บุตรชายของนายหลี่ และ
4.น.ส.นวพร เชาว์วัย ฝ่ายบริหารจัดการด้านบัญชีของนายหลี่
นายเฉลิมชัย ศรีอ่อน หัวหน้าพรรคประชาธิปัตย์ ในฐานะอดีตรมว.เกษตรและสหกรณ์
ให้สัมภาษณ์ถึงกรณีที่คณะพนักงานสอบสวนคดีพิเศษ (ดีเอสไอ)
ออกหมายจับขบวนการนำเข้าเนื้อหมูเข้ามาในราชอาณาจักรโดยมิชอบด้วยกฎหมาย
และได้นำออกไปจำหน่ายตามท้องตลาด ซึ่งรวมถึงนายหลี่ เซิ่งเจียว หรือเฮียเก้า
นายกสมาคมการค้าแลกเปลี่ยนเศรษฐกิจไทยเอเชีย
ที่มีรายงานว่าเป็นน้องชายต่างมารดาของนายเฉลิมชัย ว่า ข่าวที่ว่านายหลี่
เซิ่งเจียว เป็นพี่น้องต่างมารดากับตนนั้น เป็นเรื่องเท็จ
เพราะบิดาของตนอยู่ในประเทศไทยมานาน 80 กว่าปีแล้ว โดยหลังจากที่บิดาของตนมาอยู่เมืองไทยแล้ว
ก็ไม่เคยกลับไปประเทศจีนอีกเลย แล้วเขาจะไปมีลูกที่จีนได้อย่างไร ส่วนกรณีของบุตรชายของนายหลี่
คือนายกรินทร์ ปิยพรไพบูลย์ ซึ่งเป็นนามสกุลเดียวกับนายวิรัช ปิยพรไพบูลย์
พี่ชายของนายเฉลิมชัย และนายจักพันธ์ ปิยพรไพบูลย์ สส.ประจวบคีรีขันธ์
พรรคประชาธิปัตย์ และเป็นหลานชายของนายเฉลิมชัยนั้น นายเฉลิมชัย กล่าวว่า
ตนรู้แค่ว่าเป็นการมาขอใช้นามสกุล แต่ไม่ทราบรายละเอียดเรื่องนี้
นายเฉลิมชัย กล่าวอีกว่า ชีวิตของตนไม่เคยเอื้อผลประโยชน์ให้กับคนพวกนี้
ไม่เคยรับเงินสกปรกทั้งต่อหน้าและลับหลัง
เพราะในชีวิตของตนเกลียดการทุจริตคอร์รัปชั่น ดังนั้น
ถ้าเป็นการกระทำความผิดของใคร บุคคลนั้นต้องรับโทษและเข้าสู่กระบวนยุติธรรมเพื่อพิสูจน์ตัวเองต่อไปในชั้นศาล
ไม่มีสิทธิ์ที่จะได้รับการยกเว้น ซึ่งตนไม่เคยปกป้องคนที่ทำผิดอยู่แล้ว
โดยบอกกับคนใกล้ชิดและข้าราชการแล้วว่าถ้ามีใครทำอะไรที่ผิดกฎหมาย
ตนจะไม่เข้าไปยุ่งเกี่ยวหรือปกป้องเด็ดขาด “ใครผิดก็ว่าไปตามผิด
ถ้าคนทำผิด เป็นญาติหรือคนสนิทของผม เขาก็ต้องรับโทษ ผมไม่ปกป้องอยู่แล้ว
ขอให้เอาความจริงมาพูดกัน อย่าเอาประเด็นทางการเมืองมาโยง มันไม่มีประโยชน์
