คดีนี้กลายเป็นอีกหนึ่งคดีที่สังคมให้ความสนใจ
โดยเฉพาะความไม่ชอบมาพากลในการทำคดีที่เกือบจะจับแพะ
แต่การเดินหน้าเกาะติดคดีของผู้สื่อข่าว ทำให้สามีของผู้เสียชีวิต ได้รับการปล่อยตัวแล้ว
กลายเป็นเหตุการณ์เขย่าขวัญสังคมไทยล่าสุด หลังมีรายงานพบศพ “ป้าบัวผัน” หรือ
"ป้ากบ"ถูกฆ่าทิ้งสระน้ำข้างโรงเรียนแห่งหนึ่งในจังหวัดสระแก้ว
และนำไปสู่การจับกุมสามีของผู้ตาย ซึ่งสารภาพว่าเป้นผู้ก่อเหตุทำร้ายร่างกายป้าบัวผันจนเสียชีวิต
หลังพบศพป้าบัวผัน
“ลุงเปี๊ยก” วัย 54 ปี ได้เข้ามอบตัวกับเจ้าหน้าที่ตำรวจ
อ้างว่าเป็นคนลงมือฆ่าภรรยาของตัวเอง
เจ้าหน้าที่ตำรวจจึงส่งดำเนินคดีไปยังศาลจังหวัดสระแก้ว
และนำตัวไปฝากขังที่เรือนจำจังหวัด อย่างไรก็ตาม

เมื่อเจ้าหน้าที่ตำรวจได้ทำการตรวจสอบกล้องวงจรปิดในพื้นที่เทศบาลเมืองอรัญประเทศ
และพบกลุ่มวัยรุ่น 5 คน กำลังรุมทำร้ายร่างกาย
"ป้าบัวผัน" จนสลบ จากนั้นจึงลากตัวไปยังสนามฟุตบอลโรงเรียน
เพื่อทำร้ายร่างกายซ้ำจนเสียชีวิต ก่อนนำศพไปโยนทิ้งในบ่อน้ำ
เจ้าหน้าที่จึงเข้าจับกุมตัวทั้งหมด ทั้งนี้ กลุ่มวัยรุ่นผู้ก่อเหตุทั้ง 5 คน เป็นเยาวชนอายุระหว่าง 13 - 16 ปี และหนึ่งใน 5 เยาวชนเป็นลูกของนายตำรวจรายหนึ่ง (ซึ่งมีรายงานกว่านายตำรวจคนดังกล่าวถูกสั่งย้ายเป็นที่เรียบร้อย)
เมื่อทำการสอบสวน วัยรุ่นทั้งหมดสารภาพว่าเป็นคนทำร้ายป้าบัวผันจริง
โดยคืนเกิดเหตุ กลุ่มวัยรุ่นได้เข้าไปแหย่ป้าบัวผัน จนเธอรำคาญ เอะอะโวยวาย
และปาขวดใส่กลุ่มวัยรุ่น
กลุ่มวัยรุ่นจึงเข้าทำร้ายร่างกายจนป้าบัวผันเสียชีวิตในที่สุด ทั้งนี้
วัยรุ่นทั้ง 5 คนให้การว่า ทำไปเพราะตามเพื่อน
ล่าสุด นายกัณฐัศว์ พงศ์ไพบูลย์เวชย์ หรือ กัน จอมพลัง พาญาติของนางบัวผัน เดินทางมาพบ พล.ต.อ.สุรเชษฐ์ หักพาล รอง ผบ.ตร. เพื่อร้องขอความเป็นธรรมในคดีเนื่องจากมีข้อพิรุธหลายเรื่อง และหนึ่งในผู้ก่อเหตุเป็นลูกของตำรวจระดับรองสารวัตรสืบสวนในพื้นที่ และนายกัณฐัศว์ กล่าวว่าพาญาติของนางบัวผันมาร้องเนื่องจากสงสัยในคดีว่าเพราะเหตุใด สามีของนางบัวผันจึงรับสารภาพในชั้นพนักงานสอบสวน ทั้งที่ไม่อยู่ในที่เกิดเหตุว่า มีตำรวจหรือใครอยู่เบื้องหลังให้สามีของนางบัวผันรับสารภาพหรือไม่ อีกหนึ่งข้อสงสัยกรณีสามีของนางบัวผัน หายตัวไปหลังจากออกจากเรือนจำและเข้าไปรายงานที่ สภ.อรัญประเทศ โดยมีรายงานว่าตำรวจคุมตัวเอาไปไว้ในเซฟเฮ้าส์ โดยอ้างว่าให้การดูแล ด้านญาติของนางบัวผัน ระบุว่า ยังรับไม่ได้กับเหตุการณ์ที่เกิดขึ้น เนื่องจากกลุ่มคนผู้ก่อเหตุมีพฤติกรรมที่เหี้ยมโหด ไม่ไว้ใจในการทำงานของเจ้าหน้าที่ตำรวจตั้งประเด็นข้อสงสัยว่า มีใครบังคับให้ลุงเปี๊ยก สามีของนางบัวผัน รับสารภาพเพื่อรับโทษทางคดี ทั้งที่ตนเองไม่ได้เป็นผู้กระทำความผิด

กล่าวว่า รับไม่ได้กับสิ่งที่เกิดขึ้นมลงพื้นที่ทำความจริงให้ปรากฏ
เนื่องจากเป็นคดีที่เกี่ยวกับเด็กและเยาวชน และทำให้สังคมขายข้อสงสัย
ยืนยันจะทำความจริงให้กระจ่าง ตรงไปตรงมา หากพบมีความบิดเบี้ยวในขั้นตอนการสอบสวนทางคดีก็จะเอาผิดโดยไม่ละเว้น
ส่วนสามีของนางบัวผันที่ถูกตำรวจควบคุมตัวอยู่นั้นเตรียมประสานสำนักงานพัฒนาสังคมและความมั่นคงของมนุษย์จังหวัดสระแก้ว
เข้ามาเป็นผู้ดูแล ขณะที่ช่วงบ่ายวันนี้ พล.ต.อ.สุรเชษฐ์
จะเข้าพบกับผู้บัญชาการตำรวจภูธรภาค 2

ศิลปอาชา รมว.พัฒนาสังคมและความมั่นคงของมนุษย์ (พม.) กล่าวถึงกรณีดังกล่าวว่า
กระทรวง พม.ได้ส่งเจ้าหน้าที่สหวิชาชีพเข้าร่วมตรวจสอบในขั้นตอนสืบสวนสอบสวน
รวมถึงมีการพูดคุยกับเยาวชน
ซึ่งจะต้องมีเจ้าหน้าที่สังคมสงเคราะห์เข้าร่วมและเป็นไปตามตามกฎหมาย
ส่วนขั้นตอนการดำเนินคดีให้เป็นเรื่องของเจ้าหน้าที่ตำรวจ และให้ศาลเป็นผู้ตัดสิน
ทั้งนี้จะต้องไปพิจารณาว่าผู้ปกครองมีส่วนเกี่ยวข้องหรือไม่
หากผู้ปกครองร่วมด้วยก็จะต้องดำเนินการตามกฎหมายเยาวชน
