ไคลเมท (WCF : Worldview Climate Foundation) และสภาอุตสาหกรรมแห่งประเทศไทย(ส.อ.ท.)โดยการนำของ
นายเกรียงไกร เธียรนุกุล ประธาน ส.อ.ท. ได้จัดทำบันทึกความร่วมมือ (MoU) ระหว่างสภาอุตสาหกรรมแห่งประเทศไทย กับ มูลนิธิเวิลด์วิว ไคลเมท
ในการพัฒนาสาหร่ายรวมถึงพืชน้ำและพืชชายฝั่งอื่นในประเทศไทย
เพื่อสร้างงานและสร้างรายได้ให้กับชุมชนสู่การพัฒนาเศรษฐกิจที่ยั่งยืน
เนื่องด้วยประเทศไทยมีชายฝั่งทะเลยาว
3,148 กม. มีป่าชายเลนไม่น้อยกว่า 1.5 ล้านไร่ และมีประชากรในจังหวัดชายฝั่งทะเล
ประมาณ 26 ล้านคน มีศักยภาพในการพัฒนาสาหร่ายให้เป็นโครงการเรือธง(flagship
project)ของการขับเคลื่อนเศรษฐกิจสีน้ำเงิน(Blue Economy)โดยใช้องค์ความรู้และเทคโนโลยีที่ทันสมัยในการพัฒนาสาหร่ายให้เป็นผลิตภัณฑ์ที่มีมูลค่าเพิ่มสูงขึ้น
สร้างงานสร้างรายได้ให้กับเกษตรกรและชุมชน ยกระดับอัพเกรดภาคเกษตรของไทยสู่เกษตรมูลค่าสูงและลดการนำเข้าสาหร่ายจากต่างประเทศ
ซึ่งจะช่วยลดการขาดดุลการค้าและเพิ่มความมั่นคงทางอาหารของประเทศได้ในระยะยาว
เป็นการพัฒนาอุตสาหกรรมเกษตรและเศรษฐกิจฐานรากให้เข้มแข็ง
มุ่งสนับสนุนส่งเสริมการผลิตและแปรรูปสาหร่ายทะเลเป็นพืชแห่งอนาคตตัวใหม่
นายอลงกรณ์กล่าวต่อไปว่า
ปัจจุบัน การผลิตสาหร่ายทะเลเติบโตอย่างรวดเร็ว มีผลผลิตทั้งหมดทั่วโลกไม่น้อยกว่า
35 ล้านตัน มีมูลค่ารวมของอุตสาหกรรมอยู่ที่ 5 แสนล้านบาท
นอกจากสาหร่ายจะเป็นซูเปอร์ฟู้ดที่อุดมไปด้วยสารอาหารที่มีประโยชน์สูง
ยังมีสรรพคุณในการนำไปสกัดเพื่อใช้ผลิตอาหารเสริม อาหารสัตว์ เครื่องสำอาง
เวชภัณฑ์ ปุ๋ย พลาสติกชีวภาพสำหรับบรรจุภัณฑ์ กระดาษ สิ่งทอ สารกระตุ้นทางชีวภาพ (bio
stimulants) และเชื้อเพลิงชีวภาพ
ยิ่งกว่านั้น
การพัฒนาอุตสาหกรรมสาหร่ายยังมีส่วนสนับสนุนเป้าหมายของประเทศไทยในการเป็นกลางทางคาร์บอน
(Carbon Neutrality) ในปี 2050
และลดการปล่อยก๊าซเรือนกระจกสุทธิเป็นศูนย์ (Net Zero) ภายในปี
2065 รวมทั้งตอบโจทย์วาระเศรษฐกิจมหาสมุทรที่ยั่งยืน (Sustainable Ocean
Economy) เพื่อเป็นส่วนร่วมในทศวรรษวิทยาศาสตร์มหาสมุทรแห่งสหประชาชาติ
เพื่อการพัฒนาที่ยั่งยืน (พ.ศ. 2564-พ.ศ. 2573)
และการลดภาวะโลกร้อนจากผลกระทบของก๊าซเรือนกระจก ถือเป็นความร่วมมือที่จะขับเคลื่อนเศรษฐกิจสีน้ำเงิน(blue
economy)ในการใช้ทรัพยากรในทะเลและมหาสมุทรอย่างยั่งยืนเพื่อการเติบโตทางเศรษฐกิจ
การยกระดับคุณภาพชีวิต และการมีงานทำในขณะเดียวกันก็ต้องรักษาสุขภาพของระบบนิเวศน์ในมหาสมุทรรวมถึงผลประโยชน์ด้านอื่นๆเช่น
การกักเก็บคาร์บอน การปกป้องชายฝั่ง คุณค่าทางวัฒนธรรม และความหลากหลายทางชีวภาพ
ทั้งนี้สภาอุตสาหกรรมแห่งประเทศไทย
และ มูลนิธิเวิลด์วิว ไคลเมท จะร่วมกันจัดตั้งคณะทำงานที่ประกอบไปด้วยทุกภาคส่วนเพื่อขับเคลื่อนความร่วมมือในครั้งนี้ให้เกิดผลสำเร็จ
ผ่านการทำโครงการและกิจกรรมต่างๆ เพื่อบรรลุวัตถุประสงค์ของความร่วมมือ
และเกิดประสิทธิภาพสูงสุดต่อไป”นายอลงกรณ์กล่าวในที่สุด.

Climate Foundation and the Federation of Thai Industries (NSF)A.T.) led by Mr.
Kriengkrai Thienukul, Chairman of the House of Representatives.The Royal Thai
Embassy has prepared a memorandum of understanding (MoU) between the Federation
of Thai Industries and the World View Climate Foundation to develop algae and
other coastal plants in Thailand in order to create jobs and generate income
for communities towards sustainable economic development.
Because Thailand has a long coastline of 3,148

blue economy flagship project using advanced knowledge and technology to

million tons. The industry's total value is 500 billion baht, not only are
seaweed superfoods rich in nutrients but also have the ability to extract food
supplements, animal feed, cosmetics, pharmaceuticals, fertilizers and
bioplastic packaging. Stimulants and biofuels. Furthermore, the development of
the algae industry supports Thailand's carbon neutrality goal in 2050 and net
zero emissions by 2065, as well as addressing the Sustainable Ocean Economy.
